What engine is in the Kia Rio?
The all-new revamped engine for the 2020 Kia Rio is a multi-point direct-injected 1.6-liter four-cylinder that makes 120 horsepower and 112 lb-ft of torque which pairs with a revamped automatic transmission that Kia calls an “IVT” automatic. The new transmission acts as a continuously variable automatic with intelligence that can adapt shift logic for improved performance and fuel economy as the Rio can now get up to 41 mpg on the highway.
What are the features and options?
Two trim levels are available for the Rio, and they are packed to the brim with handy features. The base LX comes with a tilt steering wheel, a trip computer, air conditioning, 7-inch touch-screen infotainment, heated-power side mirrors, and a rearview monitor. The S trim adds to this with a front-center armrest, a 60/40-split-folding rear seat, a USB charger, keyless entry, and cruise control. With the S, you can also get the hatchback model, which has much of the same features as the S sedan but expands the cargo area to 32.8 cubic feet when the rear seat is folded.
